We expand adoption opportunities by bringing municipal shelter animals into the community through small offsite adoption events that complement shelter operations. Trained shelter volunteers and local municipal and private partnerships help connect adoptable animals with people who might never enter a shelter.

Because most people do not visit animal shelters when they decide to add a dog or cat to their family, California Humane Society partners with shelters to bring adoptable animals into the community where people work, shop, and play, giving them more opportunities to meet potential adopters.
